This rocky reserve (
http://peterlengyel.wordpress.com/2011/10/13/canaraua-fetii-dobrogea/) and it`s surroundings are quite visited by proffesional herpetologists and birders/herpers, and so far no Common Toad; and someone even found
sauromates close by (unpublished data that i had access to).
People usually go there for the southern birds that came to Romania using the dry riverbed as a migratory path from neighbouring populations in Bulgaria ( C. daurica, E. melanocephala, P. hispaniolensis, N. percnopterus, T. melba ). To see this warmth loving birds early summer is the moment of visit, and that may be too late for encountering Bufo...
