Hello,
in spring I visited Bosco del Doso to see Salamandra atra aurorae:

On this trip we also found a slow worm!
I thought Anguis fragilis!
Today I got the new "elaphe" and I am confused - is it A. fragilis or Anguis veronensis in this area :?:

must be A. veronensis - south of the Alps main chain and west of Isonzo-river.
See distribution map out of Gvozdik.

For me an other interesting observation was, that the Rana temporaria there have significantly longer hind legs than in NRW (towers above the snout) - but not so long as Rana dalmatina!
