No, it's not a shame, it's just history. As for me, I read & write the Cyrillic script effortlessly, and I learned
the Glagolitic one - just for the fun of it, of course. After all, in some parts of Croatia (notably the island
of Krk) it remained quite alive as late as the 19th century, as an official script, used in public documents.
