Stenodactylus doriae or leptocosymbotus, Oman

Hi, we found these two gekko's in an area where both can occur, sand dunes of Al Ashkarah

I'm pretty sure the first one is doriae, but the second one might be leptocosymbotus. I'm not sure. Anyone any thoughts?

I think you are right, altough it is a bit difficult from the pictures.
But I can see some faint bars in leptocosymbotes and a much shorter tail than in doriae

Nowhere in the identification key does it mention the tail, but when I look at pictures of both species, that characteristic seems quite clear. I'll add it to the other characteristics to look for. Thank you!

I'll post a full report of the trip soon.
