Maybe a section for discussing things that are not related to herptiles? An "Off topic"-area perhaps..

Me and a friend (Leif Westrin) met a couple of your friends just a week ago in the Balkans. A shame that you where on Krk, at the time. Would had been nice to met you in the field..

Here`s what i think it would be nice addition: a place where we can get to know each other better, by posting about the gear we use, tongs, hooks, gloves. I love this forum and would like to talk about stuff like what`s your favourite herp?, snakebites, funny herping stories.

It would be cool to have a place where we could share tips and trick for finding some species, avoiding bug bites, or just to ramble on about what to eat in the field. The posts could entertain us old school guys, and also help some of the newcommers.

I sure could use a General Discussion Subforum (like the Boardline on FHF). Something like a FIELDHERPER`S CAFE.

I want to insert some short videos in the trip reports, but I like when these could be seen in the report page (thus more tha url...). can you do this?

can you make on the board index a place were links to the lattest posts could be found?

The latest posts are marked with the sign on left side in red (forum).
In the right column (last post) you may click the little square symbol on right side of the author.

Now you may embed your youtube videos.

At the right side of the BBcodes you find the button "youtube".
Click it.
Now you insert the FULL URL to your youtube video.

I also think it might be helpful to have the latest posts listed on the main site as e.g. in the herpetofauna.at forum
OR: like in the European Field Herpetology Forum on Each Profile is listed: "What's New" - (e.g. 3 new comments in "Any ideas" etc)

Sorry, I´m not so familar with the new phpBB 3.x forum script.
There are many MODs on this website, but I have found nothing, you want to have (although it was possible in phpBB 2.x).

But in version 3.x they have added two links on top of the forum ("view new posts" and "view active topics").



When you click the link "view new posts", you will see all new posts since your last login.

When you click the link "view active topics", you will get a list of all active topics in the last days. Below the list you may choice how many topics will be displayed (from 1 day to 1 year).

There will be shown the 5 newest, but you may screen through 3 pages, so a total of the 15 newest posts.
