Fieldherping - inside a house 2

Hi everyone,

We just got back from Dolna Studena - a village in northern Bulgaria where my grandma lives. In the night, between 10 and 12 o'clock, my mother went to the kitchen. She shouted to me to take my camera and to go there, too! When I went to the kitchen I found this little guy in the sink!!! I think the only way it could've got there is through tha canalization...!? I took it outside to make some photos. Here thay are:

I didn't know that thay can do that!

On the other day,at dawn, I found out where these toads forage when they are not in the sink  I found three more toadlets and one subadult among the water melon plants.

We were there for only two days and we had some work to do, so I only managed to take a short walk to the river running half a kilometer away from the house. I only cought a glimpse of a huge Dolichophis caspius who fled in the tall grass and bushes as fast as a bullet! The only other reptiles I saw were a couple of L.trilineata. I was able to take picture only of one of them:

That was all! Not bad for a non-herping trip after all!
Thanks for looking!
