Looking for shed pictures

Postby Alexandre Roux » Fri Nov 22, 2013 10:10 am

Hi !

I'm making a conference (next wednesday !!!) about snake sheds (only Snakes of Rhône, France) and I'm looking for great pictures of shed (1,2 or 3 shed).

- The head
- Middle of the body to count scales

Eveything which can be use for an "identification exercise".

Here are the species I'm looking for:

Vipera aspis
Coronella austriaca
Coronella girondica
Hierophis viridiflavus
Zamenis longissimus
Natrix maura
Natrix natrix

Thanks in advance for your help !!!

So I guess it's the shed itself and not a close-up of the snake in shed, right?

Yes !
I'm looking for something precise where we can count the scales ranges, see if the scales are keeled or nor for example.
