Regional Atlas - looking for data

Postby Alexandre Roux » Mon Dec 09, 2013 2:05 pm

Hi everybody !

The Groupe Herpétologique Rhône-Alpes is preparing a regional Atlas.
The data from the Big Bang to june 2014 will be used !
We're looking for any data in the region, even if the date is approximative !
If you have some data, please contact me by PM or contact this adress: ghra.contact@gmail.com

Thanks a lot !!!

Maybe this helps for the not-French people ;)

Not a lot and probably nothing that's not known already, but I'll send you what I have.

Question - is there a national atlas project in France?

Thanks Jeroen,

The national Atlas have been released in the beggining of the year.
Data collect stopped in 2006.

Here is the link about the book:

I have it, there are many problems with data, many error, but that's a globally good representation of France.

I'm sorry to bring this message back, I think it's important for us to have many data for this Atlas.
Thanks a lot.

Do you need only locations + dates of observation, or are you also looking for pictures?

have you tried to obtain data from initiatives like iNaturalist.org ? they have a nice 'geo search'.

You're welcome :) I noticed that some regions have a lot of wildlife observations, perhaps it provides the right information for your region. I used it a lot for planning some of my (scuba diving) holidays.
