The EU have put this out for public consultation. You can fill in an online questionnaire here to give more detailed views on the legislation. Including how important it is.

Woooops, I thought that was what Kevin posted. Both initiatives have merit, imho - this situation might turn out to be a severe threat to the very core of European conservation policy.

It is about the same thing. This Nature Alert link I posted is just a prepared Version ("Our Answers to best support nature").
This should save some time and "effort".
