I know that some members here have been to see the introduced population of Ommatotriton ophryticus in Catalunya, so thought you'd be interested in the following story published yesterday:

To give a quick and dirty translation, the pool in which they were living has been dried out and will be replaced with a cattle trough. The non-natives have been removed and presumably destroyed, while autochthonous amphibians collected during the process have been relocated to an unnamed pond in the vicinity.
