Dr. Margarita Metallinou Postdoctoral Travel Award

Postby Mario Schweiger » Tue Nov 03, 2015 4:21 pm

Dear colleagues and friends,

earlier this summer Dr. Margarita Metallinou was tragically killed in a wildlife accident while conducting field research in Zambia. Dr. Metallinou was a postdoctoral researcher at Villanova University with Dr.’s Todd Jackman and Aaron Bauer. To honor her legacy the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles is seeking to establish a permanent endowment in her honor.
This award, “The Dr. Magarita Metallinou Postdoctoral Travel Award” will allow post-PhD students from any part of the world to attend a scientific conference in the USA, as Margarita had planned to do. They will be able to present their research at the annual meeting of the world’s largest professional herpetological society and to confer with other scientists in their field. This exposure is essential to establishing a young scientist’s reputation and can often lead to other opportunities including employment. We appreciate any donations, thank you so much-

Ihr zu Ehren möchte die Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles (SSAR) nun eine permanente Stiftung ins Leben rufen.
