Well, long story short, my PhD thesis is about the possible correlation between fitness proxy traits and behavioural consistencies, and my main model species is cyreni.

This is a long term cooperation with spanish researchers so next year will be my fourth visit to the Gudarrama Mts.

I think most of you will be surprised, but in next year we are going to Albania! :D
We already have some dates like:
XIX. AlbExp (21 of May to 5 of June)
XX. AlbExp (20 of August to 4 of September)

Furthermore in 2016 we start to work in Greece finally. We plan around four, two week long trips to visit 16 separate mountains to collect new data on already known habitats as well as potential ones.

So, in 2016 probably we will find more greek meadow vipers than 2015 (71 specimen from 7 mountains). :) If anybody interested join us to Albania, don't hesitate to contact me. ;)

Btw, I'll be in the beginning of May on the Black sea coast around Varna and Albena but not for amphibians and reptiles (its connected to natural sciences, but just on paper, its all about party :D ), so maybe i will try to find sauromates  and make some photos.

Some hints about this species and habitat? ;)

Hi,

we wanted to spend our annual trip 2016 in Iran.
But it is not very helpful to read this:

seems that for such visitors, a normal trip to USA ain't easily possible for the next 5 years...

:D - yes might be an option. But I guess the USA could be more dangerous than Persia...

The other option is a central Asian country. As you read, Gerald was in Kazachstan and Kirgistan and now he has some connections. I like more unexplored areas and espescially I like the steppe. Let's see
But the first trip will be in southern Egypt over New year, not really for herping, but for diving :ugeek:
