Plans for 2016?

Since my latest forum activity obviously shows I'm totally bored, I'll make an effort to give it a more jolly twist.

I would love to learn about herping plans you might have for 2016. Don't feel shy to talk about local herp-related things you'll be doing too!

Since there's a new baby in my house, I made a promise to take it easy next year. That means I will be depending more than ever on what you guys are up to, and what you are posting here, of course.

Will be visiting Alsace and Lorraine. Plan is to go there for about a week with snakes as a main target.

So far almost 20 planned weeks away from home, but none are for herping. :(

No plans yet.

Money is tight and my employment situation uncertain so this isn't the time for long term herp trip planning. Only trip abroad certain on the horizon is a family trip to Norway - obviously not a herp trip.

We dream of visiting my sister again, ideally over Easter, but that requires a positive outcome in relation to my worklife + succesful juggling of about 5 separate calendars so it's probably not in the cards.

If it happens, it won't by any means be a herping trip but Texas in spring should offer a good chance for a few interesting critters nonetheless. This would almost certainly gobble up the full travel budget for our family this year.

Otherwise, I'd hope to squeeze in a short spring trip to some destination around the Mediterranean. I don't know where, but it would probably have to be max. 5 days spanning a weekend and dirt cheap. If possible, I'd love to go in the company of other herpers for a change.

Around home I don't really have any plans either. There's an ongoing Danish herp atlas project I've contributed quite a bit of data to this past year. I'd like to fill in some of the blanks but the Copenhagen metropolitan area is pretty well covered by now and I don't know how much more I'll get around. Other than that of course I'll try to get out as much as possible - as always - following some of my local populations and searching for new ones. I am kind of in want of a project, though...

Our only confirmed plans for 2016 so far are a week in Corsica at the end of May hoping to pick up several new species for my tick list. It looks like I may soon be made redundant from my badger vaccination job so further plans are not being made yet until we have a more certain future.
