for viper-underwear or something. Let's say, Macrovipera lebetina for real men, Vipera
ammodytes
or something comparable for the average ones, and Vipera monticola for those...

:lol: I'm afraid in this case only the Macrovipera one would sell as I seriously daubt any man would consider himself anything less than a "real man".

You forgot the possibility of womenfolk ordering birthday presents for their husbands or boyfriends.
That might yield a more balanced distribution, and a more realistic one at that. Even V. monticola
might show up as a surprise, pleasant or not. (For whom, I don't attempt to guess...)
