Hi folks,
my name is Sebastian, I´m german, born 1977 and I live in Düsseldorf the beautyful capital of Northrhine-Westphalia.
I´m into reptiles since my childhood. I guess I was only 11 years old when my parents did surrender and allowed me the keeping of my first Thamnophis spec.. From there on my collection was getting bigger and bigger and I kept a lot of different specimens of Colubridae and Boidae. As I got older I was getting more and more fascinated by venomous snakes and I started keeping pitvipers. After a few years my complete stock changed into Crotalinae, mainly animals of the Trimeresurus-complex.
So here´s a pic of a pair of Viridovipera vogeli which I´ve kept:
After all this years keeping and engaging only in exotic snakes I began to realize the beauty of european reptiles and I started to look for them, especially when I was on holidays.
So here I am walking around Krka Nationalpark in Croatia (Sibenik) while always keeping my view down to the ground:
...at least with some success .
...and another croatian guy:
Now here some cretan (Greece) fellows:
...an apish Turtle :
...and until now my personal fieldherp highlight:
Now last but not least some italian critters:
Sorry for the bad quality of the shown pictures. They all were made by cellphones. But just last week I bought my first digital camera (Canon Eos 550D), hoping to produce some more presentable pictures.
First experiments with the new camera can be viewed here: http://www.fieldherping.eu/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=511
If any of the shown reptile is identified wrong by me, please correct.
Thanks to all of you and of course especially to Mario for sharing all those informations and awesome pics, I´m really impressed.
Kind regards
Sebastian
P.S.: Please excuse my bad english, school is long ago and in my job I don´t really need to speak proper english. Hopefully you are able to understand my text and my english becomes better while using this forum.
