Another Dutch guy reporting for duty ;)

Postby Ronald Zimmerman » Mon Dec 09, 2013 11:27 pm

Hello,

I am Ronald Zimmerman. I am a biology teacher from the Netherlands (Zaandam but originally Den Helder). I found this site when I did some determination on some photos that I made on a recent trip. :)
I found out that I know some people here and that I was already on the forum (half naked). I decided to join. :)

As a child I always liked looking for frogs and toads (Rana temporaria, Bufo bufo, Bufo calamita) and the smooth newt. I was also into dinosaurs like all kids of my age (Jurassic Park). After that I didn't do anything with it untill I wanted to become a biology teacher. During my study I made some nice trips and the Vipera berus and Hyla arborea stole my heart. I also went to Costa Rica (nice) and saw some very nice reptiles and amphibians. By the time I wasn't into photography yet. Now I am. :)
Now I am the kind of guy that has always a camera with him on a trip. I love it! :) But I am a bit of a rookie when it comes to herping. :(

This is what I do now:

Thank you Laura and Bobby :)

I am already looking for some good field guides for Borneo (Sabah) and the Malaysian Peninsula. I already found some reptiles and snake guides, but frogs will be harder. I will do some homework this time. ;)

Like Mario, I really like that leprosa picture.

There is a field guide about Borneo's frogs by Robert Inger/ Robert Stuebing. Usefull for me during my last trip in Sabah.
Wish you the best.

Thank you :)

I saw that guide. The price ranges between €14 and €115. Do you have a good tip for a webshop?
