Hi Michal,

nice to have you here - and a good list of herps allready seen.
But I´m woundering - Pelophylax saharicus in the wild, and no other herp species of N Africa?

Maybe you would like to share your publications?
If yes, please mail them (PDF) to me (admin(at)fieldherping.eu).
I will put them into the online DB.

Greet All
Thanks for welcome and kind words. Dear Mario, Pelophylax saharicus I photographed in Tunisia three years ago during culture tourism trip (El Djem etc.) with my folks. Then I have seen also some of local herpetofauna but not in natural conditions. The natives were catching inter alia Greek tortoises and- if I remember rightly- chameleons and they were rambling on the beaches offering tourists to take a photograph together with a reptile for money. At the bazaar You could see awful scenes- multitude of killed reptiles as tourist souvenirs and wild catched Greek tortoises for sale under horrible conditions. Here are some photos from that trip:
habitat of Pelophylax saharicus- puddle upon waterfall and stream in desert mountains:
Image

vegetation at further part of that stream and desert around:
Image

hills at habitat of Pelophylax saharicus:
Image

and frogs themselves:

tadpole of Pelophylax saharicus:

And mentioned reptiles from bazaar...

As to publications- I was referring to photographs.
I have also a question- could You send me a publication that You were basing on during noting on vipersgarden datebase that Rana a. wolterstorffi occur in Poland? Is this subspecies whatsoever still accepting?
Greetings
