To make the panoramas, I use "hugin".
You may download the program from this website:
http://freenet-homepage.de/martin_wehner/Tutorial/panorama.html
Unfortunately this site is only in German language!

You need the following components (from the links in the middle of site): autopano, enblend, hugin.
the hugin will be installed in your system language. If this one doesnt exist, default language.
But you may change it to the one you like in: Datei/Einstellungen (file/preferences)

I will give here a short introduction, how "HUGIN" works.

For this I have used the first 2 pictures from the second panorama and made it with the wizard (assistent):

1. load pictures: search for the pictures you want to use for the panorama. Its very useful, if all have nearly the same horizon (otherwise the rectangular cut out will be more or less narrow, when you "came down more and more" at every image). So its better to have a little bit up and down and up. All images must have an overlap of at least 10%, better 15%.
When loading the images you are asked for the focus length (all images should have the same one!)

2. Align. Click the button. a window opens and you see how the panorama is computed. When finished, this window closes and a small window opens. Wait until also this window is gone. A preview window opens.

3. Go to the main window and click 3. Create panorama. Insert a file name. Done.

If you are not happy with the preview, it might be better to do manually. Use the different tabs.
But also, if you use the wizard, you may check whats done by using the tabs. For example: Control points. Here you will see, how HUGIN fits the images together (in this example: auto control points, set by the wizard).

Output file from HUGIN. You see the both ends of the 2 pictures

Dont hassitate, if you have problems computing a panorama, to send me an email or PM

@Ilian,

you may change the language to English within HUGIN: => Datei => Einstellungen OR => File => preferences

Also I have found some english language websites, dealing on HUGIN

http://hugin.sf.net/tutorials
http://hugin.sourceforge.net/tutorials/index.shtml

hope this helps!

I´ve tried now the "panorama maker 4.x" trial version, and it works very fine.
You may download it here:
http://arcsoft-panorama-maker-4.1.9.30_graphic-editors_graphics_multimedia.softdirectory.de/

The 1st panorama in my 1st posting (On a mountain south of town Salzburg) is now made with this program.
