Gert, can app You mentioned (this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .navigator ?) make routes offline with destination being place in the forest/a pond? As far as i know google maps can't do that, it is endlessly loading localization of the destination point, even if it is on a road.

I have just downloaded Mapfactor Navigator and maps to this app. Maps are generally less accurate than maps by google and I do not how to navigate to the spot in the forest. When i want to set a finish flag (chequer one?) away from the road it sets the flag on the nearest point of road.

I use Locus Pro too. You can download Vector maps for a very reasonable price. The maps have a nice detail. Most of them have hiking trails, distinguish different landscapes and shows water.
You can easily add POI's, routes. And Import/Export Google Earth files is a very easy and great option!

But you do need internet if you want to use the navigation-system. You can use the maps and navigate yourself.

As most of the mobiles have GPS location, you can share your observations over France, Catalonia, Italia, Switzerland, Germany and Austria now with local associations thanks to an app.
Only available on Android phones !

The name of it is NaturaList !
