Can somebuddy help me with data? (Psammophis sibilans)

Hello everyone.
This is regarding captive keeping! It may be a bit off topic! I hope it's allright
Can some of you guys point me in the direction towards some scientific articles and bulletins on the toxicology of Psammophis sibilans. I think Brian Fry did some scientifik studies on the snakes venom but i just can't find it? (For those that don't know - Psammophis sibilans is a So. african backfanged colubrid). My problem is just that the facts i found had been misleading and alleged various views - so its a paradox for me. I know Psammophis have quite large venom glands, concidering it's a backfanged snake. The actions are believed to be neurotoxic and hypotensive.

My "problem" is - In denmark half of the keepers got major respect for P. Sibilans compared to other species, I was just wandering since i can't find it. Howcome i can't find any reasearch on the serpent? If so many say that the snake is potently dangerous, they must have read it somepwhere? I get a bit tired of people saying stuff, when they cant show some decent sources - So maby you can show me those sources when they won't/can't :)

Maby there exists a lot of work on S. Sibilans, but the poplle on the danish forums can't show me. Of course you should always have respect for all backfanged snakes! But still it's "just" a backfanged snake - and here in denmark you even hear stories of people allmost being dead, and dealing with local paralysis asf because of S. Sibilans - I just can't believe that without the data...

Can you show me some articles on S. sibilans so I can tell them next time i hear those postulations about it almost being a dealy snake, I just can't believe that ;)

Thank's for answering..

I think, most species within the Psammophinae should be handled very carefully! :!:
I know, snake catchers and snake charmers in Morocco handle the Moila snake, Scutophis moilensis or Malpolon moilensis with big respect.
Also they told me - not only one time, it is very dangerous and there have been death´s from bites of this species! :o
