Your plans for 2018

Hi folks,

I have already had enough of the cold season so I am starting to get over my winter depression by making plans for the next year...

March:
planning a business trip to northern India - trying to spend a few hours roaming the countryside for some herbs (any kind...)
April:
attending a big industrial fair in Hannover I will try to get an extra day there and go looking for V. berus
May:
main helping trip to Provence with friends. Main target species: V. ursinii (probably too early for them but will try anyway); Malpolon m., R. scalaris, H. viridiflavus, T. lepidus and V. aspis and also maybe E. orbicularis and T. hermanni. Also I really would like to find a C. girondica, species I have not yet seen in the wild.
June/July:
family vacation in Provence: will try to get some time and introduce my kids to the joys of looking for reptiles - starting with T. hermanni (hope it is not going to be too hot)
September: attending an industrial fair in Chicago - will try to get a day off so I can try to find some herps around Chicago

What are your plans? Or do you think it is still too early for making plans?

Best regards from dark and cold Germany

Christoph

Ps praying that my plans will not disappear once they make contact with reality...

March:
Short family Easter trip to Bulgaria. Out of season and not really a herping trip but I guess it should be possible to find at least a little something nonetheless.

May:
Short trip to southern Morocco at the beginning of the month for Bitis, Naja, Uromastyx and more. Hoping to find some company as I'm getting a bit tired of solo trips...

July
Family vacation time again. No plans as of yet, but there's always a chance we'll end up somewhere herpable ;)

September / October
Hopefully I'll find the time for a short late season trip. Don't know where but it would have to be cheap. Options might be e.g. Andalucia, western Thrace or a second trip for walser after I had to change plans this year when the first one froze / rained away.

January: 2 weeks in Costa Rica
May: Central-France to coordinate an ecology field course, but I'll be looking for herps as much as I can.
July: 3 weeks in Surinam with my girlfriend, but really want to spend a decent amount of time on herping (tips always welcome)

Fuerteventura in early February - anyone know any good sites for herps (PM if necessary)?
