2 links with some info I got from Ilias a while ago, I found them on Kos and in the Netherlands, on EFHC forum -insects- Found on kos you can see the pics for comparing if you want.

Too funny, I had the same question ... tried to find something via google.
but just found this here :D

I would say it´s Eresus walckenaerius. They area really huge - so it fits perfecet.
I also found this - color fits perfect:

But if you google for Eresus walckenaerius they look different?
And at flicker some wrote Eresus ruficapillus ...

Unfortunately I also can't help, but as far as I'm also always looking for "interesting spiders" I add two Eresus - Pics from Samothrace (which is about 40km from the thracian coast. :roll:
A spider specialist from Greece told me, based on these pictures "Eresus (probably NOT walckenaeri)".

Does anyone know if there is a checklist of "all" (means covers whole europe) european spiders available?
