I saw this little guy while driving near my home last night. 20 minutes later I returned with my camera and a torch and found him or her foraging next to a hedge.

Despite living near where they obviously do, it's only the 3rd live one I've seen (the other two from cars), and the only I could photograph. Quite pleased how one of them came out.

I'm surprised that this section of the forum has so few posts... Does nobody else see mammals when out herping?! Occasionally at my local adder place I see Roe Deer or voles, but they are always too quick for me.

I rarely see mammals when herping but a few days ago I saw a live shrew for the first time in my life! Of course, I couldn't photograph it because it quickly went into the leaflitter!
