Thanks for the comments chaps. Niklas the only rattler was unfortunately a dor EDB (i kept a souvenir fang). Jeroen I think manatees are easier to see in winter when they gather in certain hotspots, this one was near the crocs and thats all we saw of it (x2) despite waiting for a better view for 10 minutes, so it was just a bit of luck. As for the mosquitoes theyr'e b*****ds on one particular reserve entrance (should have taken a pic) there was a mozzy level warning sign ranging from mild to run (it was set on run), I think they are less numerous from Nov-April, well worth a few bites though.
