For your reports/images, made outside Europe and the "Mediterranean" countries. Not to be too narrow minded and limited to our European/Mediterranean herps.

4 Belgians, 2 weeks, AZ

Postby Jeroen Speybroeck » Tue Sep 25, 2012 6:25 pm

Back from 2 weeks in herping heaven! Our main desiderata were numerous and most were found, despite unseasonably low (nocturnal) temperatures during an important part of the trip. Some rattlesnake species turned out to be harder to find than anticipated and/or foretold, as we found 7 out of the 10 we aimed at. Other species were mainly 'missed' due to lack of time.

It took us a lot of effort to get that willardi that Jürgen wanted us to find, but we succeeded in the end ;)

What can I say? The landscape pics make my heart bleeding! (I must go back)

Biggest congrats on the willardi (I know how hard it is to find them, I don`t do) and thank you very much for the pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the blue klauberi from the Huachuca`s?

Btw. the mountain king is not a L. knoblochi (doesen`t occur in the US) it`s a L. pyromelana

Hi Jeroen,

This is an amazing gallery  ! Thanks for sharing. There is no word to describe the beauty of C.molossus. So, in total, you managed to find 2 Heloderma, right? Did you investigated a large area during your trip? I wanted to go to AZ for a long time, now I want to travel there even more!...maybe in spring, who knows.

Jeroen,

A jaw dropping collection, what a trip! the narrow mouth toad is stunning, I have a massive weakness for toads and the red spotted and the sonoran green toad are fantastic... as for the rattlesnakes..colour me happy..

Top post, really cheered up a very cold rainy day...
