Oman - Lizards - Jürgen = That doesn`t fit, maybe I`m getting to old to picture the real lizards, but I`m still good enough for the Agama`s!

Acanthodactylus from the south, A. boskianus or A. ophedurus, no idea

We saw about 8 Omanosaura jayakari, but that`s the only pic iI got



I saw only one Omanosaura cyanura

Follow the paper of Jeroen van der Kooij, Calotes versicolor (itroduced Species) occur only in the City parks in Salalah (1998,1999).
We found them also in Wadi Darbat, in many trees and on many places without trees on rocks. We don`t saw a single chamaeleo.

I think the first 2 are both A. boskianus (show the dorsal stripe - at least in the first 3rd/half of body).

The Phrynocephalus is not arabicus, but maculatus, another highlight!

Hi everybody!

I read something about Pseudotrapelus dhofarensis (for Dhofar populations) and other new species to the Nizwa individuals (Melnikov, Aranjeva & Papenfuss 2013) but I am not sure that both new Pseudotrapelus species are or not recognized by the scientifical community, anybody knows something about this???

Great selection of lizards - the Agama shots are awful!

It looks, that boths species from Oman (P. dhofarensis and P. jensvindumi - Nizwa area) are valid, when you look on the tree (fig. 3, page 83) in the paper, where P. jensvindumi is described. Clade with both species from Oman is sister to the clade containing P. sinaitus. There is P. aqabensis from southern Jordan between the two species from Oman. P-distance between all species are quite high (more than 10,9).

We saw both new species and I think that Jurgen got to take photos of the P. jensvindumi in Nizwa. This species seemed more shy than dhofarensis and probably Jurgen was the only one in this trip in taking photos of the species

Yes! Just before the "Bufo"/Rhodorachis/Omanosaura pool. Did you get to take a photo?
