Oman Part 5 Landscape and more

For your reports/images, made outside Europe and the "Mediterranean" countries. Not to be too narrow minded and limited to our European/Mediterranean herps.

Oman Part 5 Landscape and more

Postby Jürgen Gebhart » Tue May 14, 2013 7:13 pm

Last part of the Oman adventure a few Landscape pics and a few other things.

Wahiba Sands
a huge Sand desert, a place where we expect snakes, we tried it four times there and found not a single snake track, we found just Geckos there.

During the Trip to the south - in the middle of nowhere - in the middle of nothing

Wadi Darbat - home of Atractaspis and Bitis and Naja (we not found)

the water was full of fish, during the night walk I saw a moray there!

In the mountains in the north, we walked down that valley for Echis omanensis, 2 hours down from 2.100 m to 1.500 m!

We saw an old village there

Of course we found not what we are looking for, but it was a nice hike!

Sand cost north Oman, the place where we found 10 Echis carinatus in two hours!
