Thanks for posting the links to your report. Your pictures are outstanding and the herp species list is impressive! I especially like the "animal in its habitat" wide angle shots like Corallus caninus, Eunectes murinus. I'm amazed how many snakes you have been able to find. It looks that you got very suitable weather conditions. This must have been a completely different kind of trip than our Guyanan adventure last year.

How safe is French Guyana? Did you ever feel unsafe in the coastal area? I'm asking this because coastal "ex British" Guyana is told to be a dangerous place for (the few) tourists. Being aware of this fact, we dared to do a short walk in Georgetown during daytime. My camera got robbed within an our by a local (showing me his knife that he would undoubtedly have been using if I tired to get the camera back...).

Haha! Instead of being happy with what we found, we can all be jealous of each other's success.
I think I recognize myself in that sort of species hunger.

@Thomas : Thanks! Yes, we have had lot of rains, very good for snakes. Just a period of 2-3 sunny days in deepforest which make difficult herping. In french Guyana January is probably the best period for snake, because of lot of rainning.

French Guyana is France, so yes it's safe :D. Maybe in the large city of Cayenne by night, or in deep forest near illegal gold exploration...

@Jeroen : :D, yes of course... It's just because, like everywhere, vipers are hot species for me...
