I'm ready for this kind of "tourism"...
Great shots, wonderful places.

You, Mr Speybroeck are too modest.

All fake, you know me.

Seriously, though, if you haven't herped the US before, this may seem a good or great result, but a dedicated herping trip tends to offer quite a lot more overthere. Us, poor Euro-herpers...

Perfect itinerary and photos Jeroen! do you think that it is dangerous to make road scanning at night close to the Mexico border? DId you get authorization for herping in the States or it´s not necesary?

Gabri, I think it`s not dangerous, but it could be very annoying to get stopped every five minutes by the Border patrol, local Sheriff or the police!

In Texas is road scanning forbidden!
For New Mexico and Arizona (don`t know California) you need a hunting licene.

So did you have a hunting license or did you break the law?!?!? ;)

Border Patrol can be annoying & make you loose time, but that's it. A lot of the more popular roads along the border (yes, herping is popular in the US ;) ) have enough herper traffic that the BP knows the phenomenon (unlike the Greek idiots we met in 2013  ).

If you want to do amphibs in AZ as well, you also need a fishing licence. Together, that's 192,50 dollar if you are from outside AZ. I did not hunt anything in NM except lizard spotting from behind the wheel :P
