Awesome species and great photography! It doesn't get much better than that :)

Shouldn't "Cyclemys dentana" be Cyclemys dentata...?

Very nice. What kind of flash setup are you using?

Yes they are :D Very funny when they jump on your head ;)

At the moment I use a wireless flash with diffuser (http://www.fjwestcott.com/micro-apollo) handhold and my onboard flash with diffuser.. I use a 100mm macro :)
A photo from the internet of an onboard flash diffuser.

I do not have a photo of my own setup right now.

I am saving money for a macro bracket dual flash setup. Frogs are extremely difficult because of the skin. They always reflect light and that will cause overexposure (blinking parts). If you flash from an angle it is a lot better. That's why I want a dual flash, with two flashes from an angle. One to really flash and the other to fill the shadows. :)
This will be my new project. :) More things to take with me, but the results are stunning from what I have seen. :)

Great set of photos and a really enjoyable post. You did so well with all your finds!

Loved the Megophrys photo, my all time favourite frogs. I was never lucky enough to find one during our time in Malaysia.

Thank you! Well in Kubah NP there is a good chance of finding them. In the evening they are sitting next to the road in the NP.

I finally got my last part online about Pulau Tioman. I was a bit too busy to finish this report.
See here: http://ronaldzimmerman.nl/malaysia-2014 ... au-tioman/

Now I can work on my Romania and Bulgaria report. ;)
