Southern Africa (part 2 is up)

For your reports/images, made outside Europe and the "Mediterranean" countries. Not to be too narrow minded and limited to our European/Mediterranean herps.

Southern Africa (part 2 is up)

Postby Martti Niskanen » Sat Dec 06, 2014 7:02 pm

Spent a couple of weeks and a bit in South Africa and Namibia with some great herpetologists. My stuff got nicked, so a photo report will take a while, but have some teasers.
I'll just start with a Bitis schneideri-female. Mature with a TL of around 200mm.

+1! A destination very high on my wishlist so can't wait to see more! Did you also spend time looking for chameleons?

Yup, but with not too much luck, partly due to high winds. Only got one species. Will post the photos on the "real" post to come. Otherwise this teaser-thing will get too big. Giving a talk on the trip tomorrow at Helsinki and will have more time to sort something out after that.
