Australia in December / January

Postby Sebastian Holzki » Sun Jan 25, 2015 3:44 pm

Hey, in December and January I have been in Australia for holidays.
After a few animals have already been determined by you, I would like to show the other reptiles I have seen. Hope they are determined correct by me. If not you can tell me ;)
It was not a main trip for searching reptiles, but nevertheless I´ve seen a few.
The trip began in Cairns and we drove down to Sydney.

In Cape Hillsborough we were camping. We´ve seen kangaroos but also a few reptiles :)

On the drive to Cape Hillsborough we´ve seen also a monitor.

In Brisbane I found a python in the Botanical Garden and Australian water dragons.

Near Sydney we walked the Manly Scenic Walkway. In the bushland were many water dragons and skinks.

Nice spilota!

I think your Eulamprus would be sokosoma or brachysoma. They are (as most Eulamprus) hard to tell apart.
Where did you see the C. schmeltzii? There are a few Carlia that look much alike.

Thanks for your help.
The Carlia species I´ve found in Cape Hillsborough National Park. You can correct me if an identification is not possible.

These are nice pictures from a strange cosmos. The Agamas in between the fern are great!
Thanks for posting.

Good to see those familiar Aussie species again after 12 years, really love the Cunningham Skink and the water dragons! Great photos!
