Hi Neil,
Enjoyed the first part of your trip report and now looking forward to the next part. Some nice finds and photos, in particular the tree snake coming down the trunk.

What were your impressions of Taman Negara when compared to other sites visited?

Cheers, Ray.

Tricky one this! In terms of ease of access it's pretty good - first time there I arranged transport (bus then boat) from KL, this time it was easy to reach with rental car.
It's also decent in terms of being able to get onto the forest trails at night (where you can avoid the masses on their 8-9pm guided night walk) - but as previously discussed on this forum - the 'best-looking' rainforest habitat is not always that productive, but I'd still say it's worth a look. I will add some info when I reply to your pm.

There's definitely something about SE Asia that makes you want to return - I didn't originally plan on visiting four times in a row!
