tripreport japan

For your reports/images, made outside Europe and the "Mediterranean" countries. Not to be too narrow minded and limited to our European/Mediterranean herps.

I've been on a three months stay visiting my wives family in the Kansai district. Near the town Tanabe. It's the most southern place on the mainland of Honshu. 8 species of snakes occur in that region. Three lizards and two turtles. In whole Japan there are around 40 species of snakes. Most species occur on the island of Okinawa wich is my main targetspot next time. Hope to find there the bamboo pitvipers or trimeresurus pitvipers.
