As far as I can tell, it is surprisingly sturdy - survived 3 rough and several smaller herptrips by now. I thought the bendable arms might be prone to damage, but until now they are holding up fine. And as the arms are fixed to the camera and you donĀ“t need any additonal construction or hand to hold them, I find it also rather convenient to use in comparison to other available alternatives.
I guess all more sophisticated flash systems have their pros and cons, but all in all I am satisfied with the cost-benefit-ratio of the kx800.
