verry nice trip report with many species, not herps only :!:

But I dont know, why everybody call the Arabian toad Duttaphrynus arabicus.
Van Boxclear et al. 2009 especially excluded it from their genus.

Thanks. There is always plenty to see and a trip report should reflect that.

The 2013 field guide had duttaphrynus as the genus. I didnt take the trouble to check before that date for any changes. Since 2013 is quite a few years later, how widely accepted is the 2009 report?

Yes, I know, and some others too ;)
But I never found any paper, putting arabicus to Duttaphrynus by biochemical or any other data :(

Dear Maykel,
A very nice report with many cool records. I think the Phrynocephalus in your species list was mixed. Btw. Bunopus spatalurus is now Trachydactylus hajarensis. The sharquiah S. arabicus was also split to a new species.
All the best
Thomas

Allright, updates to the names are made. Quite a lot going on over there, taxonomically. Thank you all for the information and positive responses.

Great finds and pictures. Also very cool to see the surroundings and landscapes. The head shape those skinks looks alien :D

Cool to see some pictures of countries 'less explored' as Oman.

Thanks for sharing!
