Great shots and funny report. Jürgen and GertJan in the desert - a Quentin Tarantino-like setting...

Caramba Carranza ;)
We are on the way to an individual species concept: Every specimen is its own species

Any news on that paper: title, when will be published, etc. ?

No Idea, Mario. I just know that he collected a lot of material and Data this year in Spring and he is there now to do some more.
Also I guess he have done it the past years.

That final night must have definitely been a memorable one! I would love to experience this one day, too. Did you ever feel unsafe when travelling close to the border?

You never know what`s happen on the other side, but we never felt unsafe.

Hi Thomas,

No I always feel very safe close to borders ;)

We were send out of an area close to the border with Egypt by the militairy, but those guys were very nice to talk to, so they did not give us any problems, other sites that were pretty close to some borders were without problems.

Wait a minute... Have you been cheating, GJ, putting Eryx and Daboia in the list of what you found?

The Cerastes night sounds a great experience. I know there has been a lot of talk about this already, but with this added experience, Jürgen, would you say you can have results in these Old World deserts that resemble cruising a night in certain areas in the US? No? I still don't get why that is...
