Superb, difficult to choose a favourite, but I do like the desert hedgehog a lot.

Thanks for posting this here too. I don't think I can add a lot to what has been said by others; really gorgeous pictures!

Love your photography and it is truly an impressive species list from that trip. You have seen all species which would be on my wishlist if I ever visit that region. Hopefully next year! My personal favourite by far is the Oryx landscape. Looks as if its been taken on another planet!

Many thanks for your comments all, they are much appreciated and with my first child on the way, probably my last hardcore, self-indulgent herp outing for several years.

Bobby - the only 'common' species I didnt see was a Psammophis schokari but otherwise I cant really complain. You will be pleased to know that I completely struck out in NE Italy with not a single snake seen (unless you count Natrix tessellata as I snake - which I certainly dont).

I said "wtf" several times out loud while scrolling through the pictures. This is a good thing.

Cheers,

Sorry to hear that mate, but its the same for me. I have been twice in that area but focussed mainly on amphibians (or rather salamanders) so only the occasional tessellatas and a single Coronella showed up. I do like all snakes but I can understand if those are your only snake sightings you don't consider your trip a big succes.
