Winter in Israel

Postby GertJan Verspui » Fri Apr 01, 2016 12:46 pm

Last december I visited Israel with my girlfriend, it was her first time and my 3rd. I was not the most hardcore herping trip known to men, but we enjoyed it and were lucky enough to see some wildlife.

Grab yourself a beer or better some red wine, because it is a very touching, romantic story.

Enjoy!

Excellent GertJan!
Pseudocerastes is Great. The Green toad reminds me to the Jordan ones, also the landscape in many areas. Very nice Report, I really like it
Thanks
Thomas

Great! I really love the landscape and Echis shots.
And you were lucky with the Pseudocerastes (as was the snake, being rescued from the hole...), what a stunning animal.
Cheers and thanks for posting!

Great herps. Btw. Interesting that Phoenicolacerta shows these bright colours already in December.

Thank you Thomas!

Thanks Jürgen, you didn't go to Israel in a long time, so you should go back! Tarentola annularis is waiting for you, you gecko man!

Thank you Martti!

Thanks Jeroen, I was not really happy with the Echis shots, but I liked that one the most also.

Cheers Laura, the landscapes alone make it a great place already!

Thanks Peter, I was a bit surprised by that too, in october 2013 they did not have those colors, but they should get even more bright with more contrast.

Thank you Michael, it is a great place for herping, this time we only visited 3 areas, so there are much more very interesting habitats in Israel.
