when I was in Israel in 2010 and 2011 the Israel "Discoglossus" was "extint" for everybody!! so we didn´t waste time searching for that (if I say to Jurgen to expend time in the Daboia palaestinae country searching for a extint "frog" he would have killed me fast!
)

I haven´t read the last papers about Hyla in middle east. Last time I read something some years ago, I think that we have found Hyla intermedia and felixarabica. In 2010 we didn´t see any adult Hyla (mid may) but in 2011 we found 4 places with Hylas (final april-first may): 1. south of the Golan Heights in extreme northeast Israel, 2. in a forest with sand dunes between Mount Carmel and Tel Aviv and 3. between Tel Aviv and Negev Desert in a very dry place, 4. Just around Tel Aviv. I don´t know species but they look different...
(what a memories searching the photos, Israel is the holy land for herpetology)
