We (the herpetofauna.at group) wanted to visit Jordan this May, but then we changed our plans because of touble in Syria and some arising protests also in Jordan. I guess Jordan is quite smilar (in species and diversity) to Israel and it is still on our list. I admit we never really thought about Israel because we feared the political situation. So maybe you can give a short summary regarding safety, tavelling, controlls, hiring cars, acommodation etc. Were there any problems at all?

p.s. Instead we visited South Turkey (which was not a bad idea - trip report on the way - nearly finished)
