New Italian Vipera

At the WAN Adder Symposium 19/09/2015 there was told that a new Vipera was discovered in Italy.
Who can give me some further information?

Who provided this info? Discovered or split? Seems rather unlikely, but for sure I haven't heard anything of the kind (yet).

Was not presented at the adder symposium, but at the SEH congress.
It is a "berus" in a Piemonte, Italy valley.
Paper will be published in a few weeks.
Sorry, that's all, I know about :( (havn't been there)

OK, now I learned that Sylvain Ursenbacher talked at the SEH meeting about a new taxon from Piemonte and mtDNA suggests it is closer to ursinii than to berus (while darevskii would be its closest relative) :o

Exciting, but let's wait for it to be published properly.

Incredible to read that a new viper species will be described in central Europe. Thanks for sharing!

Fair enough, but some of us just can't wait... Is there a conference presentation of this work (publicly) available, an
abstract, at least, or whatever... that you now of?
(As far as I know, at any scientific conference, one simply has to send at least an abstract of the intended presentation
to the organizers - in order to be admitted at all - even if one happens to have the honour of being an "invited speaker".)

This is actually likely to be a case of something that's better off unpublished. Of course, I'd love to see it too, but I honestly fear for the hordes of herpers and people with less innocent motives trampling the seemingly tiny patches of remaining habitat...
