I'm considering booking vacations in Panama. Where can I find out what places are herpetodiversity hotspots in that region? I'm especially interested in tailed amphibians.

I never go to Panama but was in Costa Rica this summer, so, what I can say is that tailed amphibians are not easy to find (it's the opposite for frogs).
There is a good book about Amphibians for Panama : Amphibians of Central America 1st Edition by Gunther Kohler
