Nothing new here, but a nice write up on the dilemma of sharing information that - though not confined to these - is integral to sites such as this...

All I can say is that every 'advance' of humanity has always come at a price. Ever since the cognitive revolution, through the agricultural and scientific revolutions to the industrial revolution we have always gained some and lost some. We and the planet have always paid a (high) price for humans to achieve those things, so nothin new here really. And while it is sad as usual it is unfortunatelly also inevitable.
