In the last trip we were very very very lucky to find probably my world favourite snake. I can´t believe that I could see 2 last august (one found by my friend kentaoui) and now other of this viper very common in Mauritanie or Mali but very rare in Morocco

Interesting record Gabri  (and beautiful snake of course). Is there any record of Echis between Agdz and Zagora? Local people told me that they already observed a DOR Echis in this region...

There are just a few records of this snake in Morocco, but it should be more common than people think. Although I don´t trust in local people in snakes ID, all individuals have been found in or close oases, so Agdz-Zagora seem a good place for it. Also Akka, Icht, Foum Zguid, Foum el Hisn... I don´t know why there are no more records of DOR Echis :?

In Agdz area are very common the Cerastes cerastes "mutila", horned vipers often without horns, so local people maybe confuse Echis with them :?

Yes, I completely agree with you. In that case, I had a picture to show to facilitate the ID but it has to be taken with care..

His trip alone is similar than our trip together. Just few animals in each day but very interesting. The Telescopus is huge! The biggest found of T. tripolitanus at the moment. It seems a old female. And the Dasypeltis are very cool.

Dear friends,

Finally the trip is ready...

Some species ID are really difficult based in known keys. For example this Saurodactylus from Taza.

* I remember: it seems a success trip, and it´s right, but some days we only found 4 animals in the whole day! This year has been very very rare...
