Chalcides simony is not as easy to find as the skinks on the other islands. They seem to be restricted to the moister area's on the island. But in wintertime I think chances are extremely low.

During my stay I also found a Physalia, a strange and beautiful creature:

Below are two pictures of the Isla de Lobos close to Corralejo. I observed many Gallotia in that place, it worths going there!

The hybernation-issue was taken from Naturreiseführer Kanarische Inseln by Manfred Rogner (admitted: not really a scientific book...)

Overall, 5 herptile species can be found on Fuerteventura - a lot for a small sandy island...
