Between 02. and 09.april we were in the south-west of Morocco. We flew in from Norway to Marrakech, and used the first day to drive south to Guelmim, and the last day to drove north again.

All our trips out in the field was in the area, Assa-Guelmim-Tan Tan. As I'm not the story teller as many others here, I will just show the pictures that I got from the trip. Please feel free to ask any questions, and I will answer the if I can.

Outstanding gallery, it's hard to believe you saw so many species within 1 week (really lucky to have found Bitis and Macrovipera!). How were the temperatures looking like?

Thanks.

@Guillame. We were very pleased with the outcome, but I had hoped on a couple of more geckos on this trip. But we can not complain ! We logged many kilometers walking (and off course driving) on the 6 days we had for herping.

As for the weather it was hot when we arrived, 30-35 degrees, but this turned on the nigth to saturday and for the next 2 days we had rather cold weather and little sun (night time temps on 10-13 degrees). I got a bit hotter the last days, with day time temps on around 25 degrees

Great shots! I particularly love the Agama impalearis photo! I think your trip was very successful :)

What macro lens do you use? Nikon 105 mm VR macro?

Thanks Ronald,

On this trip I used the 105 VR and 60mm f/2.8 - the occelatus shots is done with 60mm.
I also used the Olympus E-M1 and 40-150 f/2.8 PRO on this trip. And excellent combo as e light field kit with good reach, and the possibility to shoot 1:2 when necessary.
The shots of Macrovipera, BItis, Acanthodactylis and Stenodactylus at Tan Tan is shot with this kombo (and also some of the Cerastes shots)

Very good result for 6 days and some great photographs, love the Rhagheris moilensis!

We will go there too in 10 days, hopefully we have the same results!

Thanks!
