ID Moroccan toad

Postby Marc Argeloo » Tue May 02, 2017 5:40 pm

Dear all, going through some old images (2008 in this case) I found the following images, same specimen. Being sort of new on this forum, and recently started identifying my reptiles and amfibians, I am keen to learn what species this is: Sclerophrys mauritanica or Bufotes boulengeri? Image taken near Rabat, exact place unknown.

Thanks in advance, Marc Argeloo

Thanks for your quick reply Clive. And the species I had hoped for.

Yes, some mauritanicus have uniform brown coloration and it´s possible to confuse with Bufo spinosus. But in this -nice- individual is 100% mauritanicus
