Waking up in Lyon's region

Postby Alexandre Roux » Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:11 am

YES !
Last week was a very nice week to look for toads and frogs, but not only...
And sunday, the only day I have for free, nice hot shinny day to see Asp viper !

It started slowly with muralis but I came for birds...

Sun was shinning, and weather pretty nice, still waiting for birds, especially this one:

As night temperature seems to be really nice (around 10°c), I went to some ponds and found Great crested newt (and many others...)

Nice shinning day, trying to find snakes but no one was found.
First bilineata and many amphibians by night !
(Many dead on road too...)

The next day, I was looking for Barn owl, I've seen 2 of them but no pictures. On the road, I've found a nice Natterjack toad !

I went to a pond because of I remember I came here when I was young, and there were many frog eggs !
No eggs this night, but many frogs for sure.
Later, I was bogged down where I had parked, but some guys help me in the middle on the night (very nice guys !).
Restarting the car, I've seen something on the road, it was a Fire salamander.

Wow, that were some successful and probably very happy days for you! The sidewise portrait of the Vipera aspis is beautiful.
Cheers,
