Hello,

I was in Corsica the 27/04 to the 10/05. Mostly for seing family but I always have time for herping

First, Bonifacio, with a surprise for the snake lovers (enjoy it, it's the last!) :

A beautiful Natrix natrix corsa.

The small Algyroides fitzingeri, a very quick one, hard to photograph ...


Ophrys speculum, a beautiful Orchid :


Corte (my home !) :

Calling Hyla sarda.

Pelophylax bergeri.

And the common Discoglossus sardus ...

Not a snake, but beautiful, isn't it ?
Paeonia morisii, a corsica/sardinia endemic.

And now it's Paeonia mascula :

Porticcio (near Ajaccio) :
Calling Bufo viridis
And Pelophylax bergeri

Vizzavona :

It's the kingdom of Salamandra corsica, common in the beech forest, with ponds full of their offspring :


More cryptic, the endemic and rare Discoglossus montalentii :




With newly hatched tadpoles :


This one is stick to a poor Trichoptera :

Fantastic! Those Natrix natrix corsa look stunning. The face of the Bufotes reminds me somehow of a neotropical Glass Frog...

Wow, the Discoglossus tadpoles look amazing! Thanks for sharing, I also like the breeding pools of the same frogs.
